How:

• The cow’s head, eyes, nose and snout were shaped using Eclipse Selection Tool. The horns were made by dragging a curve using the Pen Tool, while the hair was shaped from a circle using Warp Tool. 
• Cow hide patches are drawn using Pencil Tool, which were then filled with black.

Result: Really simplistic design.
